Focusing on cost and process optimization
through state of the art technology, Poliplaza Hospital
has a platelet extraction device that works with a procedure
known as aphaeresis, which potentializes the donors by
extracting eight platelet concentrates instead of one,
which used to be the maximum number. This results in a
dramatic reduction of the number of donors needed in case
of platelet transfuse.
All the hospitalized
patients count with 24 hour service from the blood bank,
in case they need an immediate blood transfusion.
The haematology service of Poliplaza Hospital
has a wide doning schedule for the donors and patients'
convenience. It allows donors a more flexible schedule
for contributing and more donatives can be collected.
The Haematology and Blood Bank of
Poliplaza runs under the supervision of the Haematologist,
Dr. Ignacio Aguirre Aguirre.
